Altered Valentines Book w/Paper Doll

DSC_0007, originally uploaded by anartsygirl.

This week I finished the altered book I'll be teaching at Scrapbook Island on February 7th in the afternoon. I'm actually teaching two classes that day. I'll be at Scrap Lovers at A Work of Heart in the a.m. and at Scrapbook Island in the p.m.. We're going to cut a niche in this book to house a paper doll with a Valentine dress. I couldn't wait to get these Character Construction stamps for this project and I made the book as soon as they came in the mail. Here are pics of the opposing page and cover too.

I'll be posting some peeks of upcoming classes that I'll be displaying this weekend at the CHA so check back!

Valentines Day Class Feb. 7th @ Scraplovers

DSC_0001, originally uploaded by anartsygirl.

Here the Valentines Day project I'll be teaching on February 7th at Scrap Lovers at A Work of Heart. With the exception of the straight pins I had everything on hand to make this today. The fabric is the cuff to an old shirt I've had for years but never wore. The flowers and czech buttons are flea market finds. The book cover was torn off an old book that was also a flea purchase. I offered so little for this book and a few others that the man told me ok but that he wouldn't have money to buy shoes for his kids! I hated to tear the cover off but the book was truly rotten. Here's a close up.

"Adorable" Class

I realized today that I hadn't posted a picture of one of my classes, Adorable, that's coming up next Saturday. I love the softness of this mini album. It will be a fun class.

I hope you had a great New Years Day!

Happy New Year!

What a great night! We pulled out old video footage of the kids after their births up until now. It was so fun to go back a little in time. Tomorrow I've committed to NOTHING but staying in my bed and pouring over the $80 worth of Somersets I bought today.

Have a happy New Years Day tomorrow!

Resolutions for the New Year

For the first time in years I have some New Years resolutions. Not just a few, 14! Some are more difficult than others but I truly plan to accomplish them all in 2009. I'm a real box checker so I'm anxious to get started. I can check #3 off my list, get Gracie in her own bed. Last night was the first night and she was really afraid. I sat on the floor by her bed and held her hand for 40 minutes until her eyes finally fluttered closed. Tonight was Daddy's night and it only took 30 minutes with a lot less fussing. It's bittersweet, I wanted my bed back after 8 years of having kids in with us but I realized last night as I faced Roy that she's probably my last one. I guess we'll see, I'm famous for changing my mind.

January 8th Class at ScrapbookU "My Girl"

I've got a few more flowers to add and this album is ready. I worked on it this weekend. I've been sick and it's been rainy so it was the perfect time to work at my art table and get this class sample done. I love doing books with Grace as my subject, she's just so fun to scrap! I can't believe this is Christmas week, wow it got here quickly! Have a great holiday and a happy New Year!!

My Blog Is Getting A Face Lift!

So my blog is under a little construction. I enlisted my friend Gabe to help me jazz it up a bit. I tried the banner on and I really like it so he's going to resize it and hook me up with a few extra fun things. Gotta run, the kids are fighting over...wait for it...an A's foam finger. The true mark of over tired children.
