I didn't want to make something this big without it being multi-functional. Besides that, haven't we seen it all when it comes to this old notion? I decided to sew a pocket on the front for my scissors and needle threader, and I wanted the strawberry to hold embroidery floss as well so I sewed some buttons to the sides and back. It secures floss in 3 different colors like this...
I went with the traditional felt top but I covered most of it with a sewing pattern top and bobbin for a stem.
I just love a new take on something old, don't you?

That's an adorable strawberry...you're so clever!
Very CLEVER she is Connie! LOL
I just love love the pearls it adds such a nice touch. I am a bling gurl myself but the Pearls seem to add a touch of vintage style. And I love the pocket and you have to go bigg or go home! Larger the better I say.

Class was so much fun. I rushed home and stuck my sewing scissors in the pocket. My husband said "it's a strawberry... hmm... cute".
Lisa...this is so fantastic and such an original take on the old fashioned...been there/ done that...strawberry. Are you teaching this again? With the big spool?
Your strawberry rocks Lisa! What an original idea to make it cream and add the notions. I hope you are sending it into Somerset, they will just love it. And again many congrats on becoming their newest Bonne Vivante.
Oh my gosh, I LOVE, love it! Gorgeous.
