Love + Hate = Like (or something close anyway)

It had to happen sooner or later. I've given my life over to fitness. I, like many people, hate to exercise. I've been walking 2 miles a day for the last week and I have to say, it's not that bad. In fact I almost like it because...

1. I love music and with over a 1,000 songs on my iPod I can surely find something I want to hear. My sister put the songs on it for me and let me tell you, this is one eclectic playlist. I have really enjoyed walking around the lake near my house singing song after song and wondering what's going to come on next.

2. Tiring or not, it's alone time. And I'll take it any way I can get it. I've always been a big day dreamer so between the music and the day dreaming I'm around the lake once before I know it and as of yesterday can make it around a second time.

3. I'm sleeping like a rock. I barely stirred when I got kicked in the temple by one of the kids that snuck in last night.

4. At work I can easily stay in my office all day without leaving my desk. Fresh air beats air conditioning any day.

5. I want my trips to Anthropologie to be for clothes again, not just home goods.

I've got 3 classes this week (and some mileage to put on my walking shoes) so I'm going to be pretty busy but I will post a new project later this week.

Enjoy your week!

Pretties & Projects

Have you ever had a chance to visit Painted White? The lovely Alice has a wonderful blog and shop of beautiful finds. I bought this old baking tin to hold all of the small bits on my work table. The tiny paper covered spools are also from her shop.

I was at the art supply store recently to buy more watercolors and I saw these...

I'm not going to lie, I bought them because the bottles were so pretty but as it turns out the colors are really vibrant and beautiful. I've been having a lot of fun with them.

Last night I made almost 30 1x1 inch canvases and prepped a few larger ones for a couple of projects and for a gift I'm making for my cousin who sent some fabulous handmade soaps to my sisters and I.

I was able to squeeze in a trip to the flea market on the way home from our camping trip last weekend. I bought lots of tiny things and this great old lamp shade base. I have a few ideas for this, nothing definite yet. I'll post pics later of whatever it becomes.

This afternoon while I was out I saw this shopping bag. I saw it from a distance and didn't even slow down as I passed it and pulled it from it's hook on my way to the checkout...

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far!!

Where Have I Been? I'll Tell Ya....

I've almost caught up on my sleep. My sister and I have worked for the same company for almost 17 years. On Tuesday night of this week she came into my office, closed the door and announced that she had a surprise for my birthday. She proceeded to tell me that I wouldn't be at work for the next two days because she was taking me to Las Vegas to see Criss Angel's Cirque du Soleil show Believe. I was so thrilled, I had only a few hours after work to pack and get to bed for an early flight the next morning. We had SO MUCH FUN! In 3 days we slept 10 hours. We were gourmet dining, Cirque showing, Forum shopping, karaoke singing...........I'll leave it at that, girls! I have to say, everyone should experience the fun of Vegas on a moments notice. Thank you Carolyn!!!!

I have a lot of work to do this week on some workshops I have coming up so check back later this week!
