Smooch

I'm not gonna lie, I'm a high end makeup girl and I don't care who knows it.  I also happen to be anamored with great packaging.  I might have overlooked this inexpensive lip balm at Bath & Body had it not caught my eye as I walked by.  I spied the yellow tube and I had a feeling it was lemon flavored and it was.  Sold.  I bought a few thinking I'd like them and I'm glad I did.  Now I have one for the car, one for my purse and one for my desk drawer at work!

Fabric Flower Tutorial

Last week I treated myself to a couple of tutorials on Etsy.  I've been wanting to purchase this one for a while so it was the first one on my list.  I loved it!  The directions and photos were great and it came together so well.  If you like making fabric flowers you won't be disappointed with this tutorial.

I tore some of my fabric scraps and I like all of the strings that resulted...

Happy Monday!

Jewelry Class With Debby Anderson

Saturday I enjoyed a fabulous jewelry class with Debby Anderson of Romancing The Bling.  This is the necklace that we made.  I chose to substitute a photo of my Grandma in my pocket watch.  This was Debby's first official class and I have to say...she really brought it.  We covered a lot of ground in this class!

I had a great time taking this class and am happy to share that I will be hosting two more guest teachers this year, the first being Colleen Moody in May and the second being Natalie Hansen in August.  If you're local to me you won't want to miss either of these classes.  More to come on their projects soon!

I've been working and will continue to be working on some projects that I can't reveal but I miss sharing so I thougtht I would make this "Studio Awareness Week".  I have daily wordless posts lined up for you filled with studio photo goodness.

Art Is You - Evening Class {& My Where Abouts}

This September I'll be teaching two classes at Art Is You in Petaluma, a full day class and an evening class.  This canvas collage project is one of my favorite classes and will be taught in the evening.  Sign ups begin in just a couple weeks so check it out!

I've just returned from a cruise to Mexico with my parents.  I roomed with my folks and we had a blast!  At one point I was looking over at my Mom on her bed and my Dad on his overhead bunk and we were talking and cracking up about all kinds of things and I thought...everybody should have the experience of being an adult traveling with their parents.  It was fabulous!

My Grandmas Pinto Bean Salad

When I saw growing up my Grandma, who was from the south, used to make cornbread & beans every once in awhile.  Either she reserved some beans on the side for this salad or she made it with whatever beans were left over.  I have never had this salad anywhere else.  I've been craving it for weeks and so I finally made it and I wanted to share it with you.

Cook 1/2 bag of pinto beans per the directions.  Drain and set aside to cool.  Cut up 4/5 medium size dill pickles, 1/2 of a red onion and 6 hard boiled eggs and add to cooled pinto beans with 1/2 c of mayonaise.  Add salt and pepper to taste.  It is SOOOOOO good :)

If you've had this salad before or you know the name of it please let me know!  Enjoy!
